Opening. La Nuit de L’Homme opens up with plenty of cardamom and a light but noticeable bergamot. The latter, gives the fragrance a light citrus touch, at the start. Then, it is mostly replaced by lavender. The YSL opens as a fresh, warm, and slightly spicy fragrance. Eros opens with a bold pop of Italian lemon, mint, and apple. Meanwhile, Eros is loud and bold, right from the start. Invictus can be that way too, but the Versace can be really strong. Italian lemon is joined by green apple and a crisp and cool mint note. This is the intense period before Eros fully develops its masculine warmth and envelopes the wearer.
Again, though, Eros is just better in this regard. With this Versace scent, I can get double digit hours. Update: With newer Eros bottles, I get like 8 or 9 hours. Still better than Voyage. Edge: Eros. Versatility. Ok, while Voyage is much more of a summery scent, it can be worn year round. Edge: Eau Fraiche. Projection. Neither one of these scents have giant silage. In this post, I want to do another cologne comparison between two fragrances from the Ralph Lauren line, Polo and Polo Blue. Now, Polo is a classic fragrance from the 1970s, comes in that familiar green bottle, and has been a best seller for decades. Blue is a more recent addition to the lineup but has been well received thus far.

Versace Man Eau Fraiche, I think smells slightly better overall. I think it’s because it doesn’t have quite the level of spice or musk that L’eau D’Issey does. Though, it actually does have those ingredient too. I think the citrus opening and that smell as a whole is better, than the Miyake, not by very much though.
The One, is moderate at its absolute peak, and fairly light thereafter. Edge: Eros. Longevity. With The One EDP, I get six-plus hours of wear, if I spray heavily. 4-5 hours, if I don’t It is much improved over the EDT which can disappear in an hour or two. Still, not on the level of the Versace cologne provides.
Versace has been releasing lots of popular fragrances over the past five or so years. Dylan Blue has been one such a release, that has gained traction with the younger set. Eros Flame is a newer release, which follows the huge popularity of the original Eros. It hasn’t enjoyed the same level of success, but seems to be growing. Black is decent and actually slightly better than its flanker fragrance, Double Black. Black can get you 6+ hours of wear but not all that much beyond that. Blue, on the other hand, is good for 7-8 hours and has the edge in this category. Neither of these is an amazing performer, as with most of the Polo lineup.
